You come across those items every once in a while where you say 'wow, why didn't I get this before?'.... well for me, this was one of those items and along with my Hoofjack (we sell Hoofjacks separately) this is one of the best tools I have come across for doing trimming, removing flares, making that mustang roll, and just keeping the hoofs in better condition between trims.   According to the manufacturer, this is the first tool line designed and created especially for natural hoof care.  I can personally attest that it is easy to use and worth owning.
Here's a little about the radius rasp.  First you need to know that there are two models, a white one and a black one (we sell both).  Both are great tools and while they can be used alone, they work best if used together.  In simplest form, the black one (sold separately) is used first; its a stainless curved rasp that is courser and removes more hoof material faster.  And then there is the white one (this item) which shaves the hoof similar to a cheese grater and is used to remove smaller amounts leaving a much smoother finished look.  I find the white one works best between trims where I want to maintain the hoof or for those times I want better control of how much is removed.

Radius Rasp Original (RR-1) White
The Radius Rasp fits in the palm of the hand, quite literally gliding around the hoof wall's bearing surface (following the direction of the arrow marked on the tool), effortlessly removing debris and irregularities. This enables the shaping of the mustang roll in an unusual and remarkably effective way, using an action similar to a cheese grater. The action is a "shaving" effect. Trimmers who have tested this tool give it high marks for ease of use with a superior result.
The unique blade is perforated rustproof stainless steel.
The Radius Rasp Original is a fantastic tool, and one we predict will soon be considered a standard for natural trimming.
